Volunteer Spotlight

Art Heifetz

Much of CCC’s ability to help others depends on volunteers—caring individuals who share their unique talents and skills.

Art Heifetz is just such a volunteer.

Four days every week, Art can be found at CCC’s Richmond office teaching ESL classes to refugees. His classes often include other useful lessons such as culture and community, employment, finances, health, safety, and of course, friendship. Art’s students also regularly visit museums, parks, and other local attractions.

“Art makes a huge contribution to the well-being of those he works with,” said Emila Stambol, CCC Education Specialist. “We are truly blessed to have him volunteer with us.”
