CCC’s Independent Living Program helps youth from foster care become self-sufficient as they reach adulthood. Youth live on their own and receive support which includes assistance with housing, employment, education, finances, and mentorship.
Edwin and Norma are just two of the many young people who have come through our program
Edwin, nineteen years old, is from Guatemala. He attended Goochland high school where he worked hard to make it to graduation this past June. Edwin now works at a Mexican family restaurant while exploring his options at community colleges and trade schools.
Norma, twenty years old, is from Honduras and is full of optimism and determination. She is a full-time nursing student and works part-time. She dreams of becoming a doctor one day, but for now she is preparing to pass her exam to become a certified medical assistant.
