Emanuel LandaLee, a 17-year-old Boy Scout working on his Eagle badge, recently selected CCC for his scout project. His “Scouting for Baby Clothes” filled a van with clothes for newborns and toddlers and other requested baby items on CCC’s wish list. He also sold donuts to raise money to purchase diapers, bottles, and socks. He also collected items from around his neighborhood. Troop 2822 meets at Bathia United Methodist Church in Chesterfield.
“The people at the church were so very giving, “ says Emanuel. “Even with the sale of donuts at local businesses, people made donations and didn’t want the donuts.”
Tami Hudson, CCC Pregnancy and Adoptions Case Worker,
said, “ These donations will help us to better serve our clients with some of the basics that they just can’t afford.”
Mary Burke, Head Volunteer with CCC’s Baby Closet, couldn’t stop smiling nor could the other volunteers who came to help sort the donation.
“We can’t thank Emanuel enough. He’s helped so many people with his efforts. We will be sorting through this for days to come!”
