Our Refugee Resettlement program welcomes the stranger, empowering those escaping persecution to begin new lives with dignity through early self-sufficiency. For 35 years, our program has partnered with the community to assist refugees as they integrate into our country. Refugees come to the U.S. with very few belongings, often unprepared linguistically, culturally, and economically for their new life.
The refugees that we assist come to us through the U.S. State Department. They have been fully vetted by the State Department through rigorous background checks. It is only then that receive them to provide them with a new start. More information on the process and policy can be found here.
As part of refugee resettlement we provide:
- case management
- employment placement and orientation
- adult English instruction and educational planning
- family mentorship
Refugee Resettlement relies on the hard work of volunteers and donations from the community. Please visit our volunteer page to learn more about current volunteer opportunities, and our wish list page to find out what donations the refugee resettlement program in your area has posted.
